Golden Hour

My favorite time of the day is when the natural lighting is perfect, and there’s probably no other time more perfect than the so-called “golden hour.” It flawlessly captured the aesthetic of my outfit. The white and blush tones look beautiful against the sunlight! The lace detail of my top paired with this bohème skirt is no doubt the appropriate look for spring, festivals and the like.

Keepin' it cool

A vintage denim jacket gives you an instant cool vibe, and maybe we should thank the rebellious John Bender from the Breakfast Club for that. I’ve made it a closet staple of mine for the reason that it’s timeless and never goes out of style regardless of the changing trends. I prefer wearing my denims with black and/or white because it adds a subtle color to my outfit.

I even brought the best gal Amy (@ammish) to shoot this outfit for more fun~

I wore this outfit to brunch with my dear blogger babes this past Sunday at Zinc in LA! It was the perfect spring weather so a denim jacket was very appropriate.

Sunday's Best

A brief update on my life: I literally have no days off. It’s rare when I do, and when that time comes I make sure I spend it wisely. I either spend quality time with loved ones, or schedule shoots (which I did both today!). So, cheers to my Sunday dress: simple and conservative—not the type to show your shape but shows a tad bit of skin with its cutouts.

Cutting Edge

Geometrical cuts on your basics are a total win. My white v-neck is the ultimate upgrade with its fresh cutouts on the shoulders, while my skirt keeps it sexy cool with an asymmetrical slit. Since we’re talking about basics here, I wanted to stay with the casual vibe by wearing my sandals – It kept my feet happy for sure.

Stripe It Down

Stripes: probably the only pattern out there that I don't mind wearing countless times. It’s simple, yet versatile. Keepin' it edgy and cool with black accessories and silver jewelry, then gave it a boho feel with my fringe backpack. This tee is so soft and comfy that it makes me not want to take it off!

I basically live in these boyfriend jeans. I can honestly say that they are as comfy as PJ’s and that’s why I love wearing them. It’s also very easy to wear: throw on your favorite tee or crop top, then pile on some accessories for that undone and effortless look. I was going for an everyday look with this outfit - a white tee paired with jeans is fail-proof…Am I right?

White Lady

The shirt dress – one of this season’s must try trend. Its versatile and the possibilities are endless! Dressy or casual, you won’t go wrong. I wore this outfit by dressing it up at the Audrey Magazine Fashion Show about a month ago. When the weather gets hotter, I would definitely style it down for the festival or even a beach day.

Maxed Out

Tis the season to bust out all the maxis in your closet! This number came in right on time: monochromatic palette, floral pattern, low cut, bare back, high slits with shorts in-seamed?! Sounds like the perfect maxi to me! What makes it more amazing than it already is: it flatters my petite body. It’s a struggle to find the right maxi for petite girls like me. Some fit extremely awkward with no body form whatsoever, but not this one! That’s probably why I’m so obsessed with it. You can even get away wearing it at night because of the dark color way.

Season Staples

This blog post is dedicated to share to you my favorite staples as of late:

  • MAC’s Sin
  • Choker from Urban Outfitters
  • Halter Shirt Dress from Forever 21

If you knew me well enough, I am the queen of dark lippies (or I'd like to call myself). I cannot get enough. I recently discovered this deep burgundy matte lippie from MAC called “Sin” and it has been overused since I purchased it. What I love about matte lippies is that it stays on longer than your ordinary satin lippie. I have a bunch of dark red lippies but this one has the ultimate vampy feel to it, which I absolutely love. I have also been really into chokers lately but I’m especially drawn to this one because it's metal and has a long pendant necklace attached to it, which I think stands out from the other chokers out there. Last but not least, shirt-dresses are a hot trend this spring and for a good reason: it’s laid-back and dressy all in one.

I’ll be back after a crazy weekend at Coachella!

Festival Diaries: Daisy Dames

It’s the last day of our festival diaries!

Feminine and fresh: our inspiration for today’s outfits. Denise & I thought that these matching sets were so cute that we had to match together. I like matching with my best gals at events or festivals, and I don’t think it’s corny at all! The pastel colors combined with the daisy print makes our outfits look so refreshing, and would be great to wear under the scorching hot weather. The bikini top and circle skirt adds a playful touch—you can even wear this on a beach day!

P.S. It’s Denise’s birthday today so go wish her the happiest birthday!!!

Festival Diaries: Trippy Hippie

Today’s look is inspired by some of your classic festival outfits.

When it comes to festivals, comfort really is key. If you’re the type to dance your butt off to live music, you have to wear something that doesn’t restrict you from doing so. Also, it is ridiculously hot the entire time and there’s gonna be lots and lots of walking. Did I convince you to dress comfortably yet? Ha-ha. But seriously, I can’t stress this enough. I guess I’m not the type to chill at festivals; instead, I like exploring and partying in full effect! And a cute top and a pair of shorts can never go wrong. Anyways, I was going for a gypsy look with my peasant-inspired top, fringe shorts, coin belt, and flower crown. The fringe on my shorts makes me want to shimmy all day long.

Festival Diaries: Ethereal Beings

We are exactly one week away from Coachella and my excitement just keeps on growing! The desert is hot and humid so I tried staying with the lightest color palette as possible for my outfits. And as much as I love black, it’s just not gonna pass! Ha-ha. This outfit is inspired by wanting to feel light and airy, just like a fairy frolicking about the grounds of Coachella. Festival Diaries: Spring Fling

We’re yet another day closer to Coachella, which means…more outfit inspirations, the better! Our outfits are inspired by spring colors and Easter being around the corner. Pastels are fun and flirty—perfect for a celebration. I love the color lilac but I rarely wear color, and Coachella is the perfect time to do so. If you know me well, I always try to darken any outfit possible so I added all-black accessories to this look. How cute is this fringe backpack I’m wearing?! You’ll be seeing me rockin’ it everywhere I go because I’m totally obsessed with it as of late.

Festival Diaries: Poolchella

Coachella is only about a week or so away and I am beyond ecstatic! This year is special because I teamed up with my girl Denise Gen and our friends at Tobi to showcase a festival-inspired lookbook. I told myself after Coachella last year that I will be more prepared with my outfits this year—and most importantly, have more fun with it. And what better way to have your gal pal with you?! Our outfits are inspired by the poolside parties, or simply put, wearing less clothes because we’re in the desert!

We have more outfits coming your way, so stay tuned! We can’t wait to hear which outfits will be your favorite. Don’t forget to check out Denise’s blog!

Good Ol' Denim

I do wear a lot of black colors so I like to switch it up from time to time. I added my vintage denim jacket to this look on my attempt to dress for spring. I don’t think I can stay away from the color no matter what season, so I like to play it cool and add some pieces that will go for a “spring” look. The sultry feel of the lace details and asymmetrical cut makes the outfit suitable for a night out, just skip the jacket and it’s like a totally different fit!

Cappuccino

This season calls for light jackets! I layered this piece over one of my favorite LBD’s for the FashionTap App launch party last Saturday and it was just the cherry on top of my outfit. Everyone was hanging out at the gorgeous backyard and it was a bit chilly (at least for me) that night, so a light jacket was very appropriate. This flowy duster jacket is a fun alternative for the camel trench coat. I love how the color is almost nude, and the dual drawstring waist gives you some shape. You can also easily fold up the sleeves when it gets a bit warm in the room.

Season in bloom

Today marks the first day of spring, my favorite season of all! The weather is warmer and the flowers are blooming, which only means a little more femininity in my wardrobe. By the way, I never had allergies in my life until this year, which I think is very odd. But that doesn't make me love this season any less. Happy Spring!

Springtime Fine

Spring time means a lot of whites, a little bit of florals, and a little bit of crochet. And there’s nothing better than to prance around the city in my new favorite white romper. I even met a new elephant friend! You’ll see me wearing this coin belt a lot this season that I found a few years back, and this lace up sandals that I’ve been eyeing over ever since last spring!

How Many Shades?

It’s starting to get hotter here in LA, but that doesn’t stop me from wearing the cutest coats! This plaid coat has my favorite color palette filled with different shades of grey. And yes, we can’t help but refer to Fifty Shades of Grey so I added more greys to this outfit by including my peppered knit top, charcoal denim shorts and silver watch to the look. It’s appropriate for this winter to spring transition, where the days are warm and the nights are cool. xo, PD

This jumpsuit is going to be my best pal when it comes to those days where I wanna feel dressed up but stay comfy at the same time. It's loose & flowy, which I think goes well with my petite body. You can go day to night with this one- and can probably get away with in the office then straight to a fun night with the gals. Don't forget to pair with your stilettos and you’re ready to paint the town red.
