Supergirl

Athleisure at it’s finest—there’s nothing quite like the classic three stripes.

From the comeback of the Superstar sneakers to killer collabs with the likes of Rita Ora and Pharrell, Adidas Originals has been killing the athleisure game.

Talking about the classics, let’s talk about the track pant reimagined for the modern female:

The Supergirl.

They are slim-fit, made with stretchy tricot material that’s comfortable to either dress up or down! I love the the zip-up ankle detail because it offers alternative options to style—it just adds that cool factor. Wear it with your favorite sneaks for a chill night, or strapped heels for a night out.

I wanted a sporty-yet-casual vibe for this look, so I paired it with my all-white Superstar sneakers. To finish it off, I busted out my cool new sunnies from BonnieClyde. They have a variety of mirrored styles that’s unique, and perfect for the summertime!

Shop the look below (and I hope you're staying hydrated in this summer heat)!

Summertime is vastly approaching, and a fresh new outfit is in order!

When I think of summer, I think of fun outdoor activities; whether it’s having a picnic at the park or biking by the beach. I particularly love having barbecues and going on a staycation! The list goes on, and that’s why my summer staple needs to be versatile no matter what the occasion.

I’m getting ready with XOXO this summer by rocking this LBD! I just love how it perfectly fits to accentuate my body, but also flares out to keep it fun. It’s a modern take on the day dress—your summer staple doesn’t necessarily have to be colorful. However, we’ll leave it up to the details; the ruffled sleeves and front cut-out to keep things interesting. The solid black color also makes it easy to switch it up by adding other key pieces. I added a wide brim hat to complete the look.

I’ve got a new appreciation for a good pair of jeans, it really does go along way. Can you believe I used to hate wearing them?

Gloomy days like today, I don’t feel like dressing up. I try to vibe with the weather so I look for something monochromatic and effortless! Manière De Voir brings these elements to their pieces and they have been my go-to on days that I don’t feel like trying (but still want to look like I did).

Nün Bangkok Festival

Athleisure takes Coachella!

For this year’s Coachella, I got the opportunity to partner up with Nün Bangkok!

Nün Bangkok incorporates edgy elements with comfortable and light weight garments—redefining athleisure to a whole new level. Each collection represents the strong and stylish woman, without having to sacrifice comfort. Each design is unique, with great attention to detail.

The pieces were perfect for the festival, standing out from the more bohemian outfits that we see there!

Talking about the festival, here are a few of my favorite performances:

  • Gallant: He put his heart and soul to each song and it was such a pleasure watching him – with surprise guest Jhené Aiko to perform Skipping Stones.
  • Snakehips: It was my 4th time seeing them live and they never disappoint, they just get better and better every time! They brought out Tinashe as a surprise guest for the song All My Friends.
  • Ice Cube: Probably one of the most sought out artists for this year – he brought out The Game, Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar!
  • Flume: The first time I saw him live was two years ago at Coachella 2014, performing in one of the smaller stages, so I was really excited to see him again this year! He brought out Vince Staples and Kučka to perform Smoke & Retribution, Kai for Never Be Like You and Tove Lo for Say It to end his set.

Needless to say, it was a great Coachella overall, and I can't wait for next year!

It feels great to be back at Coachella, and I’m back with a bang in this killer outfit. I took these photos at their beautiful Rose Garden, isn't it pretty? Staying true to my style, I kept it edgy with cool metal details in both denim and suede. I wanted to break the bohemian trend we usually see at the grounds and went for a badass look! And when you’re wearing fringe, it just makes everything more fun. You bet I danced and twirled all day with this one.

Being a full-time blogger requires attending quite a few meetings each day, which means I’m always on-the-go and barely have time to spare. There are times where I cannot sit and eat a decent meal, and when that happens, Graze comes to the rescue! Graze is a weekly subscription service that offers 8 different snacks that’s customized especially for you. They’re not only healthy, but they taste as good as your ol' bag of chips that you love munching on. I’ve also been working towards a healthier lifestyle (exercising regularly + smarter food choices), so Graze has not come at a better time.

Multi-tasking is key to getting things done efficiently. So when I’m driving to my next destination or waiting for my next appointment, I use that time to grab a snack from my Graze box so that I at least have something to fuel myself until I can grab a meal. I love how I can easily throw a snack in my bag when I know I'm going to have a packed day, like back-to-back meetings or shooting content for my blog and other social channels. Each box has different snacks: salty, sweet, or anything in between—they got you covered! My favorites are the Sesame Garlic Crunch (which you can also add to your salad for that extra crunch) and Chocolate Cherry Granola (which is so good by itself and even goes well with yogurt). You can try it for yourself with the first box free by clicking here! They offer 4 snacks for your first try, and if you like it, you get to choose 8 snacks over 100 options for only $11.99 per box—delivered straight to your door! Sounds pretty cool, right? It doesn’t only help me on my busiest days, but it’s become essential to my lifestyle.

Thank you to Graze for kindly sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.

Choked Up

Reporting the latest trend: The Choker Dress.

It's only Wednesday but the weekend vibes are strong with this look! I love the minimal design and the allure it brings. The choker detail alone already makes a statement.

To complete the look, I added my favorite belt for a bohemian feel and my suede booties to match. Just throw on your favorite trench coat and you're ready for a night out! Shop the look below:

Festival Diaries: Wild Wild Fest

Here we are at the last day of my Coachella lookbook series! For my final outfit, I was inspired by the western outlaws and rock n roll era. Totally badass and ready for a ridiculously fun time! Rocking that “vintage-but-glam” look with lots of studs and rhinestone embellishments. All you need to add is your trusty big hat and cowboy boots, and you’re set to boogie those desert nights away.

Festival Diaries: The Gypsy Warrior

Another day, another outfit from my Coachella Lookbook! For my second outfit, I was inspired by bohemian travelers and ethereal beings. Channeling my inner gypsy with lots of fabric and slit action. Flower crowns are so out, and crystal tiaras are so IN.  I added statement pieces with gorgeous stones and chunky chains to complete the look. This outfit is for the free-spirited, the wanderer, taking a nomadic journey at the stages of Coachella.

Stay tuned for my last outfit and lookbook video tomorrow! x

Festival Diaries: For Love & Festivals

Now that Spring is officially here, let the festival season commence! Coachella is just around the corner and I’m excited to be attending again this year. With that being said, I’ll be showcasing my Coachella Lookbook in the next few days, and launching a video at the end of the series (click here to go to my channel and subscribe).

Having attended Coachella for the past two years, I know how hard it is to find THE perfect outfit for all three days of the festival. So I'm hoping that this series will inspire you to find yours. I started the hunt early this year and had the opportunity to collaborate with some of my favorite brands!

For my first outfit, I was inspired by beach getaways and poolside parties. Indio gets extremely hot this time of year so I wanted an outfit that will keep me calm, cool, and collected. What better way than to wear a crochet cover-up that's designed to flatter your body in all the right places? Just look at the gorgeous pattern and detailing! Wear your favorite swimsuit underneath and you're ready to roam the grounds of Coachella.

Stay tuned for more x

White Silhouettes

Spring is officially here!

Welcoming the new season in white flowy silhouettes, which will be evident in my wardrobe. I love how it instantly gives off a fresh look on those warm, sunny days.

I wanted to showcase the bottoms that I’m wearing because I love how it looks like a skirt, but are actually shorts underneath. Having two elements in one makes it so easy to wear, and also adds a playful touch to the outfit.

NYFW: Lafayette 148

Happy Monday, loves!

This last NYFW I had the chance to collaborate with Lafayette 148 New York, a contemporary woman’s line that redefines power-dressing with its exceptional style, fit and quality. They offer a wide range of styles for the sophisticated, cosmopolitan woman.

I chose a staple piece like this long blazer—the structure and padding on the shoulders gives it a strong look, perfect for business meetings and professional settings.

I paired it with a white button down shirt, a piece that’s versatile all-year-round. You can layer it with a long trench or slouchy cardigan on those chilly days, or wear it by itself on those warmer days.

Humpday Hues

On Wednesdays, we wear camel.

Happy Humpday ya’ll! I’m a happy camper due to a very productive Wednesday. I got some errands out of the way and I was even able to pamper myself a bit, which I feel is rare nowadays because I’m always so caught up with work and events. It feels weird, but really nice to have a day like today once in a while! Anyways, I’ve been really digging camel hues lately—it’s so chic and a great Spring color. I also love how this dress can act like as a coat as well. You can wear it by itself when you need to quickly throw something on, or you can layer it up for something more fun.

Speaking of “hump” day, I’m about to head to the gym and work on my bikini bod. How’s your Humpday coming along?

Spring Forward

Winter's coming to an end so I started some Spring cleaning all of last night to get my closet ready for the season. I still have a lot to do but I already feel like a weight has lifted off my shoulders, or should I say in this case, a pile of clothes finally out of sight.

I’m working on selecting a few staple pieces for my Spring wardrobe and this NBD bodysuit definitely made the cut—it was love at first sight! I love the corset detail with boning on all sides, and gold rings to lace it all up. I dressed it down with my favorite pair of denim cut-offs, but you can easily dress it up with your midi skirt or trousers.

I’ll share with you more of my staple pieces soon! In the meantime, you can shop similar styles to match the bodysuit below :)

Pau Takes Chicago

“Twenty years from now you’ll be disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.” – Mark Twain

This year, I’m definitely planning to travel more. Chicago was on my list, so my boyfriend & I went for our anniversary—a short trip but fun nonetheless. Here's a recap, along with some tips if ever you plan on going to this beautiful city soon!

DAY 1

image.jpg

We arrived the city at 9am on a Friday and it started snowing—my first time seeing snowfall! It was really cold and I’m glad I was prepared and all layered up. Although check-in time is at 3 p.m., we were able to check-in early at The Godfrey and got to rest for a bit. The Godfrey is in the heart of the city and almost everything was walking distance or a $5 uber ride—it was nicely convenient.

A glimpse of our room and the city view from our window! It was a gloomy Friday morning.

image.jpg

First stop, Wildberry Pancakes and Café. I usually prefer waffles over pancakes but reviews say that their signature berry bliss pancakes were a must, so I ordered that instead and I loved it! After brunch, we headed to Millenium Park to check out the bean.

I love museums so we had to stop by and explore The Art Institute of Chicago. We didn’t have much time but I loved their exhibits!

image.jpg

After a long day of exploring, we were famished. So we went to Giordano's for dinner because we've heard great things about their deep dish pizza, and they were right, it doesn't compare to the BJ’s deep dish that most of us know. All the toppings were inside the pizza, almost like a pie, and the cheese was just complete gooey goodness. This is a definitely a MUST when you’re in Chicago.

DAY 2

image.jpg

We started our day with breakfast at The Eastman Egg Company, which offered a variety of tasteful egg sandwiches. I got The Captain and added avocados—so good! Then, Intelligentsia Coffee for a latte.

image.jpg

My favorite part of the trip was going to Skydeck that features The Ledge, which is a glass balcony extending four feet at the 103rd floor of Willis Tower. It supposedly gives you a view of four states. It was breathtaking (and a bit scary, haha). The regular line takes about an hour to a couple hours so I recommend getting the fastpass!

DAY 3

image.jpg
image.jpg

Our last day in Chicago was pretty short since our flight back home was at 4 p.m. so we made sure our last meal was a good one. And If you knew me well, you know that I love eggs. There was a brunch spot called Yolk that was only a couple blocks from our hotel and I ordered a Tour De France, which was 3 different French toasts in one plate. It was sweet and fruity, just the way I like it! To complete the salty and sweet combo, Peter ordered the pot roast egg’s benedict—which I also recommend.

image.jpg

Our last stop was Café Integral, a cute little café at Freehand Hotel. They offer drinks and bites with a very homey setting!

Other Tips:

  • If you’re going to Chicago during the winter time, don’t forget to layer up! Thermals, chunky knits, winter boots, gloves, scarves, beanie, etc.
  • Map out all the places you want to go to and choose a hotel that’s in the vicinity. It makes it easy to go from one place to another (especially when in extremely cold or hot weather conditions).
  • Try as much restaurants as you can. The food in Chicago is AMAZING. I have nothing bad to say about the places I went to. But WARNING: most good restaurants have about an hour to an hour and a half wait time, so don’t wait to go until you’re extremely hungry. Also, most restaurants have waiting apps where you can put your number down so that you can leave and come back when the table is ready for you.

Lastly, here’s a short clip of our trip—my first video ever, guys! You can check out my channel and subscribe here. Hope you enjoy!

Yin + Yang

It’s all about finding your balance.

I learned that in Chinese philosophy and religion, yin and yang are two principles: yin is negative, dark, and feminine, while yang is positive, bright, and masculine. Two halves that form a whole, a concept that resonates in my style.

I find my balance when it comes to my wardrobe—mixing opposites like edgy with boho, black with white, and statement with minimal pieces. Just like relationships, opposites attract and it keeps it interesting, don’t you think?

BB Dakota’s Tank Dress came in just in time for the warm weather we’re currently having in LA—it’s definitely starting to feel like Spring! It’s light, airy and feminine, so naturally, I wanted to add toughness by adding my cropped moto.

Babes That Brunch

Hats + dresses means I'm back in LA!

I’ve had but a week to recoup and catch up on work after all the NYFW madness, and still have more to do—but I promise to update you on my travels soon!

With that said, I want to share with you my brunch attire from a couple weeks ago. Dressing for brunch usually means going for a casual yet chic ensemble. And to keep it fun, I stayed away from black and went with some color—camel!

I just love how this coat can be both worn as an outerwear and a dress. It was a sunny yet chilly day in LA so I went for layers and silver accents, and my wide-brim hat to match and complete the look!
