I'm back in sunny LA!

I’m really feeling this SoCal weather right now. Coming back from the freezing temperatures in Chicago, it almost feels like Spring back home. Hence, I bust out my denim overalls from Dolly Girl Fashion pretending that it’s springtime. This cute little number looks like it came straight from the 80’s! I do love vintage-style pieces, and I really like how this one flatters my petite figure. You can catch me repeating this outfit at a festival!

The Heartbreaker

Ready to break hearts with this Valentine's Day look.

image.jpg
image.jpg
image.jpg

Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to dress up and do something fun. Whether you’re going on a romantic date or a girls’ night out, a LBD is always appropriate. This year I’m going for rebel chic: my trusty cropped moto, cut-out bodycon dress and pointy-toe heels to create the look.

image.jpg
image.jpg

Talking about Valentine's Day, my ideal date would be to get out of town—to go to a city I’ve never been to. I live for exploring new places and trying new things! Then later, ending the night with a nice dinner—food is definitely the way to my heart. ;)

image.jpg
image.jpg
image.jpg

This year, I celebrated Valentine’s Day a little early for the reason that I’ll be out of town, attending NYFW. I went to Chicago this past weekend with my boyfriend celebrating our anniversary and it was nothing sort of amazing. I will save the deets for the next blog post so stay tuned!

Never too late
image.jpg
image.jpg

I’m starting the new year (or I should say this month) with a bang: I’m back on the grind and working harder than ever, booked 2 trips for the next few weeks and a few projects are in the works!

image.jpg

Couldn’t have started this year any better. And talking about the new year, I want to share with you some New Year's resolutions I have for myself. I hope you’re not tired of this subject yet—but I really want to inspire you to make your resolutions.

image.jpg

So here are some things I want to change this year:

image.jpg

Start a healthier lifestyle.

I’m not gonna lie, I haven’t been taking care of myself for the past year. Having the worst possible diet, drinking out a lot, not exercising, and lack of sleep (which equals to consuming more coffee than water everyday, yikes!) has taken a toll on my body. So last week I finally took the step by buying a gym pass so I can start working out regularly!

image.jpg

Don’t wait for tomorrow and get shit done.

I tend to put things aside or wait til last minute…no more of that. I’m working on finding inspiration daily, and answering my emails right when I get them!

image.jpg

Travel more and see the world, one location at a time.

Talking about traveling, I’ll be going to Chicago this weekend and attending NYFW in February! I had so much fun traveling to NYC and SF the past few months and can’t wait to see more cities (both familiar and unfamiliar) this year.

image.jpg

Better organization and time management.

This is something I need to constantly work on. As more work piles up, I get so caught up and I stress out more than I need to. I want to  use my time more wisely, focusing on reaching my goals.

California Winters
image.jpg
image.jpg

It feels as if the winter season gets colder and colder in California every year. Nowadays, I can’t leave the house without a coat when in the past, all I needed was a light jacket. I’m not complaining though! I love being able to wear coats this season and layer my favorite pieces.

image.jpg
image.jpg

I’ve been on the search for a camel coat and I’m glad I found this one from Lioness. My wardrobe is very monochromatic at the moment so it’s nice to add some color for once! It’s the perfect color and the right structure for my petite body. I couldn’t let it go.

image.jpg
image.jpg

Even though it’s been colder lately, the weather is still unpredictable. Cold, hot, then cold again… That’s why I opted for cutoff shorts, so that when It gets hot, I can simply take off my jacket and put it back on when it gets cold again. Some summer pieces are still useful this time of year when you mix it with your winter staples!

Farewell 2015 - Hello New Year!
image.jpg

Coming into 2015, I told myself that it was going to be my year. I had a really good feeling about it. And as I reflect upon the past year, I see it as a year of learning and growing. It has taught me so many things in regards to my career path, my relationships and myself. I wouldn’t say it was an easy year; it definitely had its ups and downs. However, it was an amazing year overall.

Here’s a few lessons that I want to share with you coming into the new year:

image.jpg

“Surround yourself with people that are going to lift you higher.”

Spend time with people that genuinely support you in all that you do and have your best interest, and don't waste time on people that do not otherwise. Keep those who matter and learn how to cut those that don’t. I’m lucky enough to have the most supporting family, boyfriend and friends in regards to my career. After all my fears and doubts, they always believed in me and that’s what kept me going. If the people that matter to you the most believe in you, it should be enough reason to believe in yourself.

image.jpg

“Venture outside your comfort zone. The rewards are worth it.”

One of the things I learned this year was challenging myself to overcome my fears, doing things I didn’t like doing. It made me realize that it’s not as bad as I think it would be.  It made me feel empowered, and made me believe that I can do anything that I set my mind to.

image.jpg

“If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done.”

Being the perfectionist that I am, I tend to overthink my craft and overly criticize every detail. Is it good enough? Will people like it? Could I have done it differently? Is it worthy? And then I realized, life isn’t about perfection. You learn and become better by learning from your mistakes. Progression > Perfection.

image.jpg

“Learn to be alone and like it. There is nothing more freeing and empowering than learning to enjoy your own company.”

This is my favorite lesson of the year. I’ve never enjoyed my own company so much, and I’ve never been this happy about myself and life overall. You need to know how to depend on yourself and truly love yourself above all else. You don’t need a man or anyone else to make you happy, you can do it all on your own.

image.jpg

Now coming into the new year, I have a lot of expectations for myself. 2015 was filled with many struggles, but I’m ending the year on a good note. Let’s welcome 2016 by giving all that we’ve got. Happy new year!

I was having a Marilyn moment with this maxi and felt glamorous while staying casual. I dressed it up with over-the-knee suede boots and a gold braided choker. You can also dress it down with your favorite sandals or booties!

I love contrasting pieces—my black boots complemented the white dress really well.

It was nearing golden hour, and that explains the amazing glow in these shots.

Silver Lining

Sparkly with a dark twist.

image.jpg

December is coming to an end, which means that the new year is vastly approaching (time flew fast didn't it?!). We have about a week to prepare ourselves for 2016. As we plan our NYE shindigs, party looks come into play.

image.jpg
image.jpg

The new year is your time to shine, so I believe that sequins couldn't be a more perfect fit for a NYE look.

image.jpg

Last year I wore a gold romper to match my blonde hair, but this year I know for sure I wanted to wear silver to match my new 'do.

I added different textures to the look to make it fun and interesting, so I chose my leather envelope clutch and patent leather booties!

Comfort + Function

My outfit of choice when I'm on the go.

Now that the holiday season is here, I’m running errands left and right. My endless list includes gift + grocery shopping, preparing for holiday parties and the like. So when I’m on the go, I like to stay comfortable and functional. Shopping involves a lot of bag carriage so having my Avenue Dee fanny pack makes my life easier for the fact that it’s always secure around my waist (instead of carrying it around). I also love wearing my Air Max Thea that I got from Zappos because it keeps me comfortable while running errands all day!

Fall is in session but we are slowly (but surely) transitioning into the winter season. Now that it's getting chillier in Los Angeles, I'm in the hunt for the perfect outerwear. I found this Karen Kane jacket and it's definitely a winner! Being a SoCal gal, I get cold easily. However, I simply throw this jacket on and I'm instantly toasty thanks to the faux-fur lining. It's faux-leather but feels amazingly comfy. This is my must-have piece for the season!

Pau takes SF

About two weeks ago, I decided to go on a short trip to SF with my best friend! It was a last minute decision so we decided to drive up (yes, 6+ hours long) and booked an air bnb. Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun! This post is dedicated to sharing you my trip :)

The bread bowls at Fisherman's Wharf--a must!

Watched the seagulls (not pictured) sleep by Pier 39 almost until the sunset hit.

First time at Boba Bear then shopped til we dropped (literally). 2 hour sleep + 6 hour drive + adventure-filled day = almost fell asleep while eating dinner at San Tung's, which had really good Asian chicken wings

DAY 2

Found this cute little cafe for a morning snack.

Walked around the Golden Gate Park!

Tpumps: my favorite boba milk tea place...ever. Did I say ever? YUP. I just love how you can mix 3 different flavors with your milk tea and make it extra sweet. So many flavors in one cup. My kinda drink!

Stopped by Bi-Rite and hung out at Dolores Park.

I had the best time at San Francisco! Amazing sceneries, great food, nice weather. It's nice to get out of LA once in a while. I love exploring other cities/places because it always gives me a different perspective of life. Moreover, it's relaxing and inspiring at the same time. Thank you for going through my photo diary :) Now, where to next?

Cluse is an essential timepiece in my lifestyle. It gets me through the busiest of days, timing every second to help me reach my goals—big or small.

When my day is fully booked with meetings and shoots, my Cluse watch helps me keep track of time without other distractions (for example, I would end up going on an Instagram rampage if I was to check the time on my phone). It helps me meet my deadlines, which is crucial when it comes to working with a variety of brands.

Its simplicity keeps me focused, and completes my look overall. Its sophisticated in its own way, with an elegance that enhances my style. Simply put, my Cluse watch brings out the best in me both internally and externally.

It feels like the fall season has barely hit (thanks to the LA weather), but I’m so excited for winter! Mostly because I can wear shaggy and faux fur coats—the more texture, the better! This shaggy little thing moves with you so it would be so fun to wear at parties, whether it’s for a friendsgiving or a holiday party. It’s a great way to upgrade your outfit to the top!

Olive You

Keeping myself warm with a cool vibe in this olive bomber jacket.

Bomber jackets are one of the biggest trends this season, of which both men and women are rocking! It leaves a fresh, sporty statement while adding a powerful silhouette to your look. Not to mention, the bomber jacket is so easy to wear. Simply throw it over a tee and skinnies and bam! Instant chic.

The colder weather gives me an excuse to add more masculine pieces into my wardrobe, and this olive bomber has to be one of my favorites as of late. For this outfit, I paired my bomber with a white cropped halter and black skinny high-waist pants. Naturally, I stuck with a monochromatic palette so that the olive color stands out.

On Heavy Rotation
image.jpg
image.jpg

The latest weather change (in colder temperature) means a new set of pieces on heavy rotation. Different season, different pieces.

image.jpg
image.jpg

The colder it gets, the cozier I want to be. Therefore, I can't seem to stay away from oversized pieces lately. I love how this shirt can be either a tunic or dress on me!

image.jpg

Thanks to the Cali weather, I’m still able to rock my summer pieces. I keep myself warm with thigh high boots when I’m wearing a dress, shorts or skirt.

image.jpg
image.jpg

When I need an effortless touch, I simply add statement pieces to put an outfit all together. The Bound Cuffs from THPSHOP are beautifully crafted, heavy duty metal that aesthetically completes this look.

“Never let the fear of falling keep you from reaching the top.”

I’ve always been afraid of heights—the thought of falling and the possibility of hurting myself scared the crap out of me. As I grew older, I learned that it was just all in my head. Although I still get that eerie feeling when I look down from a high angle, the satisfaction of overcoming that fear grew greater and greater. Just like anything I’m scared of or makes me feel uncomfortable, I perceive it as my motivation—a goal—to overcome it and not let it hold me down.

Going on a rooftop of an unfamiliar building and getting a 360 view of LA is something I don’t do everyday. It was breathtaking and I cherished every second. The perfect moment for my white kimono, where it stood out from the buildings and architecture. I polished the look with patent booties along with my favorite bodysuit and distressed jeans to give my laid back LA-look a city vibe to it.

October is breast cancer awareness month! In honor of the annual campaign to increase awareness, I’m sporting the color pink for this look. I rarely wear color but this blush moto jacket has stolen my heart. It’s the perfect mix of feminine and badass—just like all the women out there that has fought or is continuing to fight breast cancer. Click here to get informed.

I wanted my moto jacket to completely stand out so I wore black head-to-toe. The lace top keeps the look more feminine, while the pants is more badass (which by the way fits amazing) with rips just right on the knees for style!
